Sports Day 2026
Sports Day 2026 was a roaring success. Organised by Ms. Keogh + the children of 6th class, the children participated in numerous games, races and fun activities. We were so lucky to welcome Irish paralympian Shauna Bocquet to our sports day and talk to us all about her journey to Paris 2024 and what the future holds. To finish out a wonderful day, the Parents Association treated us all to some fabulous ice-creams. Thanks to all for making this a memorable day!

School Book Fair
Our school book fair was a fun week for all classes, filled with choosing and reading books. Everyone enjoyed exploring new stories and sharing their love of reading.
Our school marked World Down Syndrome Day by wearing colourful odd socks to celebrate inclusion and individuality. The children also made generous donations to Down Syndrome Ireland, supporting a very important cause.
As part of Seachtain na Gaeilge and in the lead-up to St. Patrick’s Day, our school marked Lá Glas by dressing in green to celebrate our culture and heritage. Students and staff came together to sing songs and recite poems in Irish. The older children also took part in a Tráth na gCeist and thoroughly enjoyed it. Maith sibh do gach duine a ghlac páirt!
Well done to all of the children who took part in World Book Day! 📚✨
From fantastic costumes to lots of reading and sharing book recommendations, the day was full of fun and imagination. Some pupils enjoyed buddy reading with the younger children, and we even had a whole-school walk to celebrate the day together.
A wonderful way to celebrate our love of books and stories. Well done everyone! 👏📖

Well done to the 26 students from third to sixth class who took to Galway Racecourse for Day 1 of the Galway Primary Schools Cross-Country. Some tough hills did not deter our students. Well done boys & girls!
We support and stand in solidarity with our wonderful secretary Ann and all secretaries/caretakers across Ireland as they take to the Picket for action against Pension Parity. Ann plays a vital role in the daily running of our school and deserves parity of conditions with other staff.

Lego League 2025
Wow, what a day we had ! After weeks of researching, planning, and building our models around the theme “Submerged”, we finally had the chance to showcase them today at ATU Galway.
We began our day with a leisurely walk on the beach, then headed into the college to set up our display and present our artwork. We proudly described our models to many visitors and had the chance to explore the incredible creations from other schools too.
One of the highlights was a guided tour of the Robotics and Automation Department — it was truly amazing! We wrapped up a fantastic day with a well-deserved ice-cream on the way home.
First Holy Communion 2025
Congratulations to Second Class who received their First Holy Communion on Saturday, the 10th of May. What a beautiful and memorable day we had! A heartfelt thank you to Fr. Kenny for his continued support and kindness.

IMG_7550.movIMG_7549.movBhí Seachtain na Gaeilge iontach againn. Tháinig ceoltóirí áitiúla isteach chun ceol traidisiúnta a sheinm agus a chanadh agus ghlac cuid dár scoláirí páirt ann freisin.
Bhí tráth na gceist againn i rang 3 go 6 agus bhaineamar an-taitneamh as. Ar deireadh, bhí ár Lá Glás an-mhaith le hamhráin, dánta agus damhsaí ónár scoláirí. Maith sibh go léir!

On Tuesday, October 1st, Loughrea Rugby Club hosted a fantastic tag rugby blitz. The sunny weather set the perfect backdrop as students from the senior classes, both boys and girls, came together for a day of fun and camaraderie. The non-competitive spirit of the event encouraged everyone to get involved, making it a memorable experience for all participants.
