Easter and St. Patrick's Day Fun!!

February 2024

Our theme this month was Spring and Celebrations. We learned all about St. Brigid and in our art lesson we made St. Brigid's cloak. We loved making pancakes on Pancake Tuesday and enjoyed eating them with our favourite toppings! We were learning all about symmetry in Maths and painted colourful symmetrical butterflies!

January 2024

Our theme for January was Houses and Homes.  We looked at different types of houses and some materials used to build them. We read the story of "The Three Little Pigs"  and we made each of the pig's houses! We sang the song "The Three Little Pigs" and enjoyed trying to blow the houses down!

Halloween 2023

We had great fun preparing for Halloween in our classroom. We made pumpkin and ghost decorations. We made Rice Krispie buns for our Halloween Party.  We learned some Halloween songs "Five Little Pumpkins" and read stories about witches; "Room on the Broom" and "A Magical Muddle".  On Friday, we dressed up in our costumes and went to the Centre for a Halloween Disco!

Making our bridges!

Our STEM challenge was to build a bridge for our toy cars to drive over. After looking at images of famous bridges around the world, the pupils designed and built their own bridges using materials found in our classroom.

For our art class this week we made some Easter crafts. The pupils really enjoyed making their clay chick pots. We worked on our fine motor skills, cutting and pasting Easter chicks and we painted Easter eggs.

This week, we said goodbye to our wonderful SNA, Corina. Corina has been a fantastic addition to our class and will be missed! We are also looking forward to welcoming back our permanent SNA Lisa. Lisa visited our class with her lovely little boy Callum. All our pupils were delighted to see Lisa and we look forward to having her back with us after Easter.
