Getting ready for St. Patrick's Day

Look at our cute leprechauns and our four leaf clovers!

Science - Making hot chocolate

In Science, we looked at Materials & Change - Heating and Cooling.

Pancake Tuesday

The children enjoyed picking various toppings for their pancakes!

Making pizza

We made our own pizza using wraps, tomato puree and grated mozzarella. They were yummy! We couldn't wait for them to cool down so we could eat them!

We squeezed out the tomato puree onto the wrap before spreading it out using a spoon.

Loom Bands

We had a visit from some of 6th class. They made loom bands with us using two colour patterns.

January

The boys all had a great rest over the Christmas and came back ready to learn. We had great fun in the month of January. We especially enjoyed celebrating Grandparents Day.

December

Christmas Jumper Day in aid of SVP. Thank you for your generous donations.

We have been busy bees this month

We loved paired reading with Sixth Class

We have been busy artists this month. See our rudolph crafts, rudolph printing, snow globes and our beautiful Christmas tree. The Sunshine Class paired with fifth and sixth class for our Christmas Countdown display.

We love watching and popping bubbles.

Our WOW Work Wall that we have been adding to this term.

November

Can you spot the new addition to our sensory room? We love our new ball pit! We also have been working hard on our gross motor through throwing, jumping and balancing activities.

We enjoyed making Fizz Pop Rockets and our own playdough during Science Week.

October

Theme: Autumn. The class enjoyed making hedgehogs out of clay and match sticks. We worked hard on our fine motor skills.

Making hedgehogs

On Fridays we enjoy making or baking. We enjoyed making toast.

Lunch on our first week of Junior and Senior Infants. A big welcome to our two new pupils.

June

We went on our school tour with Junior and Senior Infants to the Burren Nature Sanctuary. We had a great day, we fed the animals, went on a fairy walk and got to play inside and outside.!

We spent the month of May exploring different styles of printing in art. We printed with sponges, stencils and even vegetables!

As part of our Food theme, we made butter. We used fresh cream and shook it until it turned into butter. It was delicious on crackers!

In April, our theme was Play. We tried out lots of toys and had lots of fun doing it!

We made our own playdoh, experimented with clay and played with some of our toys from home.

We are very fortunate to have the new walkway so close to our school. We have been making use of the sunny days and getting out for some lovely walks.

In March, we were learning about houses and homes and 2D shapes.

We used 2D shapes to help us to create pictures of homes.

This might have been our favourite day of the year so far, Pancake Tuesday! We loved choosing our toppings, nutella was the big winner on the day!

For Valentine's Day, we made cards using a printing techniques with pom poms and clothes pegs. This helped us to work on our fine motor skills and to make a card for the special people in our lives!
