A huge thank you to Mr Kelly and the teachers from St. Killian's Secondary School who invited us over for a chess tournament. We had great fun and thoroughly enjoyed the lovely refreshments also!!!! We look forward to our next visit!!!
3rd & 4th Class enjoyed a wonderful morning on Grattan Beach , Salthill discovering all sorts of marine life and sea creatures. We were led by Padraic and Anna from the Explorers Education Program which is based at the Aquarium . We learned so much and had tons of fun too !
1st and 2nd class have been very busy planning, designing and building their Lego projects for the Junior First Lego League. Have a look at their brilliant projects on our school Youtube channel. The students look forward to it every year.

The children had a great day out in Renville park... we got to go to the playground, walk around the fairy doors and eat icecream !!
We started with a wake up shake up morning activity, a nature walk and lots of races - the welly race, the spud and spoon race, a sprint race and a hurdle race. Thanks to all the 6th class students and to Ms Keogh and Ms Barrett for organising the day.

We are so proud of our 3rd and 4th Class who worked so hard to make beautiful Christmas cards for the residents of Kilconnell Nursing Home. They also included a lovely letter in each card as well as a virtual hug . The children wanted the residents to know that we are thinking of them and to wish them all a Happy Christmas. It has been a lonely time for nursing home residents this year and we are all looking forward, with hope, to better times ahead for all. Merry Christmas!

Maths Week was a great success! Ms. Earls created brilliant maths trails for each class. Every class got involved in problem solving in class. 5th and 6th worked on target boards every day for the week.
5th and 6th class really enjoyed the creative process behind their coloured spiral haunted houses.
Lots of fun on our Nature Trail! We found Ash trees, Beech trees, Oak trees, Horse chestnut trees and Birch trees. We collected leaves and did leaf rubbings in our classroom.
We were studying Japan in 3rd & 4th Class this month so we decided to make these colourful lanterns. Nice work everyone!
Happy days again in school! We love our art! We painted some squirrels and selfies with masks ! The best part is all the fun we have together when we are painting!

The children had a brilliant day! The children enjoyed a variety of collaborative games, races, a 2020m run, and photo-orienteering.
It's great to see all of our student's back in school. We have all adjusted very well to our new school routines. Looking forward to a great year ahead!

Thank you to all the students in 3rd and 4th class who took part in the virtual school sports day. We asked them to get their whole family involved and we were delighted to see students from across the school join in. Well done to all involved!
Our school got to meet their heroes on Wednesday. We were so excited and very proud of all involved and in particular all our past pupils. Well done players and management!!!
We started the Paired Reading initiative in 5th/6th class this year. All children were put into pairs within their class and they both take on roles of tutor/tutee within the pair. The children work through a sequence of activities such as partner reading, checking comprehension (predictions, summaries, questions), vocabulary development and word games. As the initiative was cut short this year, we are looking forward to trying it out again next year.

5th and 6th class had great fun making pancakes on Shrove Tuesday. We even brought in our own toppings!!!
The students had a great day out in NUIG at the Peace Proms 2020 concert. The students worked hard beforehand learning songs and dance moves. It was an amazing experience to see such talented musicians in the Cross Border Orchestra and for the children to be part of such a brilliant performance.
