STEAM Challenge
We recently took on a S.T.E.A.M challenge in our class! Our challenge was to construct a paper chain using only the following items: 1 sheet of A4 paper, a glue stick and a scissors. We worked in groups and measured our paper chains at the end! At the end of our challenge, we reflected on our work and discussed what we would do differently in the future!
Lego Club
A big thank you to Ms Keogh and Ms Davis who have started Lego Club with us! Working with Lego encourages creativity and problem-solving. It is important that we work as part of a team!
Can you play Switch?!
We recently learned how to play a game called Switch! Switch is a really exciting game that requires us to remember lots of different rules! A big thank you to the 3rd and 4th class students who helped us at our groups!
1st and 2nd Class School Tour
We recently visited the Let's Go Activity Centre at the Connacht GAA Centre of Excellence in Ballyhaunis. The children had a fantastic day which was jam packed full of exciting activites - zorbing, air jumping and go karting to name but a few! We were so lucky to have such nice weather on the day too. A huge congratulations to our 2nd class children who received their 1st Holy Communion. We are so proud of them all!

In Literacy, as part of our work this term, we have been looking at 'POETRY'...We have been 'responding' to poetry, through 'drawing' and writing reviews about poetry we have been looking at...We just recently completed the writing of some lovely 'Acrostic Poems' about 'SPRING'....We are very proud of our Acrostic Creations!!...Have a look.....

Musical Composition
We really enjoyed using 'Body Percussion' in groups to accompany the song, 'You've Got A Friend In Me'...It was nice to hear lots of positive comments from our classmates about our performing and composing!!!

We really enjoyed making delicious,hot pancakes to celebrate 'Pancake Tuesday'...We all brought in a variety of toppings to try with our pancakes..

First and Second Class really enjoyed 'World Book Day'...We all dressed up as our favourite 'Book Character'...Have a look at our amazing costumes....We also brought in our 'favourite book' and spoke about it infront of the class!!! We had great fun designing our own unique 'Book Covers' for our favourite books at the end of the day....Thanks to Ms. Guthrie for organising World Book Day!
We have been learning all about Pablo Picasso. He was a very famous artist and his artistic style was known as 'Cubism'....We completed some art work in this style!!!...Have a look at our work....

IMG_0252.MOVHuge "Congratulations" to all our pupils in Second Class, who received the Sacrament Of Penance for the first time,on Thursday the 30th of March in St.Killian's Church.It was a very prayerful and joyful occasion for all the children!
They are all really looking forward to receiving their First Holy Communion on Saturday, the 13th of May!
